Hello,

I'm Chris and I'm new user - about 2 weeks of Koken. Almost everything I wanted managed to find in Internet or do by myself, to the point I'm thinking about completely new theme ;), but that's not nearest future, just as an introduction :).

So, to the core of problem - I'm using an Elementary theme on my site, and till now I've used fonts from google font. Today I've found new font - completely free - but it's not on any site like google fonts or typekit. So my idea is to upload the font to server and then somehow integrate it into theme - is it possible?

Might be possible, but it would require some effort because Koken doesn’t provide a utility for that. You might be able to add the font plus a style sheet containing the font assignment to your server, then inject that style sheet into your theme using our free HTML Injector plugin. You might then have to assign the font to the theme’s ‘body’ using the Custom CSS editor in Site for edits created there override the default theme’s style. I haven’t tried this myself but in theory it might work.

Thank you for response!

So, I should just place the font and css file containing the formula to integrate it, right? Is there any specific folder or should I create fonts folder or place it in main Koken folder?

Koken doesn’t have a specific folder for assets like these, so you would create a folder wherever you’d like on your server outside of Koken’s folder. Then link to them there.

Okay, I'll experiment with this... One more question - would there be any problem if I put the font in Koken's folder or in a folder created inside Koken's instalation? Because if my logic is right, linking wouldn't be a problem anyways.

Thanks for response again.

It would be best to keep any custom directories outside of the /koken folder (one containing “/admin”, “/app”, etc) for those files are replaced when new updates are downloaded.

Okay, great to know. Thankies again for info, I'll keep this topic up in case of problems during the process, cause I'll modify it in a week or maybe slightly later.
