Lightroom plugin and sets

Nov 07, 2014 09:14AM EST

My situation :
- I'm have a brand new Koken installation.
- I configured the Lightroom plugin.
- I can create an album from the Lightroom publish, and then publish photos there. It works OK

But the I wanted to do this :
- Create a set "Essays" in Lightroom Koken publish.
- Add an album "2014-08-10" in this set, and put photos there
- When I clicked "Publish" :
- What I had : Koken created an "Essays" album and a "2014-08-10" sub-album inside
- What I expected : Koken should have created "Essays" as a set instead of an album

Is this normal behavior ?

How can I manage my Koken sets from Lightroom ?

More globally, I've heard that Koken had a very good Lightroom plugin, and that's one of the reasons I'm giving it a try. But I can tell that it's very far from what I have been used to ( ...

You should be able to create a set in the Lightroom Publish Service and publish that set to Koken. Koken should recognize it as a set and create a matching one. How long ago did you install the plugin? Curious to know if your plugin was installed a while ago and needs an update.

Hello Todd,

As a matter of fact, I can see now "Essays" as a set in Koken. But I'm pretty sure it first appeared as an album.

Maybe I should have refreshed of cleared cache or something. Sorry about this.

Still, have you any improvements planned for this plugin (bi-directional synchronisation, managing album properties from Lightroom (description, sort order, select covers, ...) ?

Pretty much everything the plugin can and cannot do is dependent on functionality provided by Adobe. We’ll of course be keeping an eye on new developments and update when we can.

Hi Toddy,
I'm sorry but I must disagree.
As I said, I've been used to more functionality with other plugins, using the same Lightroom provided by Adobe.
So limitations are clearly in Koken's side for me ...

Hi Todd,

Another great exemple of what CAN actually be done with a Lightroom publish plugin :

I look forward to see this kind of integration in the Koken plugin.

Hopefully some improvements planned ?
