Uploaded video not working

Chris Hunter

Nov 05, 2014 05:27AM EST

I have uploaded an H.264 MP4 video using the recommended settings, and I am having no luck at all with making the video play.
When I upload I get a video in my library with a time of 0:00 and no thumbnail.
When I try to play the video in my album on the site I just get the buffering icon.
I have made sure that ffmpeg is enabled.

I really like using Koken, but I can't pay for any plugins at the moment as I am currently looking for work (hence the portfolio site).

If this is not fixed I will have to change to another CMS and I really don't want to do that, so please help me.

Thank you,

Chris – sounds like it’s one of two things. Either the video isn’t encoded properly, or your web hosting provider doesn’t support the file format. You can test the latter by trying to load the file directly in your web browser (

I have this same problem. My web host provider does support the format. Also, I re-uploaded the video and now it plays but only half way.

The "0:00" issue seems to be intermittent. Yet I have uploaded my mp4 H.264 encoded video 4 times and only 2 of those time can I play half of the video with horrible buffering issues.
