Constraining neighbors to same album/context

Adam Sch√łnemann

When looking at individual content, I would like to limit the neighbors displayed to only include content in the same album as the currently displayed content. Right now, it also selects neighbors from the next and previous albums. I have a hard time figuring out how to use lens tags and variables to achieve this. Any suggestions?

Adam – when you’re viewing the single image page (content.lens), is the path to the image using /content/? If so, then that would explain why you’re seeing images from other albums because you’re viewing your photostream, so to speak. If you navigate to that single page through an album page the URL will use /albums/album-name/ instead, and then the neighbor links should be contextual to the parent album’s content, not the stream.

First of all, thank you for your answer. You're completely spot on in your diagnosis.
My problem is that I want to navigate directly from a set to an album in that set, i.e. I want to avoid the entire "scroll down huge pictures" and go directly to viewing one picture and many small thumbs beneath (I'm using a slightly customized version of Ensemble)
You can see the loop-album-grid template I modified here:
Any suggestions on how would I go about linking to the first image in an album, while preserving the album context?

Adam -

Sorry but no there isn’t currently a way to link an album on the Albums page to the first image/video in the album. Right now those links always point towards album.lens. This is something we’re considering adding in some shape or form to a future release. For now the albums.lens template is required.
