Where is the config file to change the base url?

Javier

Hi, I used to have http://www.mydomain.com/koken while I was testing this, I am happy to start using it (although the Lightroom plugin never really worked for me) so I want to to change the site URL to

http://www.mydomain.com/photograpy

If I do this via the Settings interface this will create an empty /photography folder in the server however nothing works using that URL, is I manually move the whole install inside /photography only the home page and admin work, moving the whole install back to its original location and now I have no site whatsoever but I have the admin area so my question is, which fiel do you use to the tell the system in which domain is running so that I cab change that?

Cheers

Javier – you should never need to physically move and any files on your server. Doing so could very easily break the app as well as your public site. You wouldn’t need to create a physical directory on your site either when changing the site URL, which is explained here:
http://help.koken.me/customer/portal/articles/1523076-edit-site-url

You should have been able to leave all your files where they were then edit this URL to change your site path.

Give that a try if you haven’t already and see if it helps.

Todd, yes I did try that an it does not work, in fact, I have recreated the site in a new domain and followed the instructions and nothing:

http://whalesofthesouthpacific.whale-nation.com

I still need to add the "token" directory bit at the end of the url for the site to be visible

http://whalesofthesouthpacific.whale-nation.com/koken/

Which obviously aI don't want, so why is it that even when I have changed the URL under SITE PUBLISHING as mentioned the site is still knot visible on the top level domain?

It is exactly what happened with the other install hence why I tried to move the files, but I can see the issue was not that.

One other thing, do the ESSAYS or PAGES support embedded code? I need to add a shop to pone of the pages its a script but it does not render anything.

Cheers

Javier – appears this was resolved? I now see your site at the new domain. Let me know if you’re still having an issue there.

As for the essays/pages, yes you can add code. This explains how:

Todd, yes I did change the mapping of the sub directory on the hosting and that fixed it, only temporally so I think that what I was missing was clearing up the cache, I have gone back to the original configuration and now works fine, thanks.

Also many thanks for the tip on insetting java, I only need now the Lightroom plugin to work and I am ready to take the plunge!

Cheers
