Problem to Add Albums-Link (Filter: Featured)

Sep 08, 2014 06:58PM EDT

i have a problem to add specific Albums.

First: i have renamed the "Labels"
Album = Stadtteil
Albums = Stadtteile

Set = Bezirk
Sets = Bezirke

Sets/Bezirke contain all Albums/Stadteile. There exists (for the moment) no Albums outsides Sets.

I want 2 Links in menu:

Stadteile (Contains ONLY Albums - no Sets)
Bezirke (only the sets)

ALL Albums are featured.

My Problem is now @ Albums/Stadtteile

I delete for beginning ALL Links in Menu. Then Add Links
* Sets/Bezirke - works fine - perfect
* Albums/Stadtteile - i see all Sets (for default - i think this is correct)

I don't have options (Filter: featured) for setup the FIRST "Albums"-Link. When an Album-Link exists, i have an option zu set filter for the SECOND Link. I miss this link @ First Link. :(

By the second link i dislike the slug/url => /stadtteile-1/ ... i want /stadtteile/ ... stadtteile works only at first link and without filter ;( Is it possible to change this? Directly in Database?? (Table Draft)

I use Axis 1.

Patrick – thanks for the questions.

Regarding albums and sets, the way this works is that the “Albums” page displays all top level collections in the Library. This will include all albums AND sets. Basically the root of the “Public” branch in the Library’s left column. “Sets” displays only sets. Right now there isn’t a dedicated template to just show the root albums (and filter out the sets).

If you want to display a page that only includes albums you have a few options for doing so.

1) You could add the albums to a set and then add that set link to your main navigation.
2) You could add albums to “Featured albums” in the Library and then add an albums page that’s filtered to only show featured albums. More on that here:
3) You could assign tags or categories to the albums in the Library you want to show together, then (like #2) add an albums page that’s filtered to only show albums assigned a particular tag/category.

Between those hopefully there’s one that’ll work for just showing the albums you want.

As for URLs, you have some degree of edit control, as outlined here:

There isn’t a way to venture beyond that however and make truly custom URLs at this time.
