Hello

I would like to exclude in the timeline some albums / sets. How can this be done?

And can I limit the timeline to a number? The are listed as only a maximum of 12?

Dane – how many items appear on the Timeline page is dependent on which theme you are using. Some (like Axis 2) allow you to either show the timeline as a grid or as daily snapshots where you can see one day at a time. If there isn’t a theme setting to control it when you view the template settings then your current theme probably doesn’t support it.

As for excluding albums/sets, that’s not currently possible. The timeline automatically displays your latest images, essays and collections (new and updates). We will of course consider making this an option for future theme improvements though.

Hi Todd

Thanks for answer

I use the Axis 2 theme. I tlooks so on my startpage: http://linsenschuss.de/

Several users have criticized that there are too many photos. Especially for the user coming from mobile devices with slower connection on my side. Here is the link to my page: http://linsenschuss.de/
I can not find any setting to the limit. But maybe I do not see it?

I had it on my old site just so regulated that are simply the maximum of 12 latest photos displayed.

Thank you for support!

Dane – I think part of the problem here my be you’ve assign the Contents index as the front page. Contents is designed to be your photostream, displaying ALL your latest published images. It’s a fire hose of content. So what you may try doing instead is assigning an album as your front page instead, or you could mark images as featured then publish a page of just your featured images for use on your front page. That would give you more control too over what appears on your front page.

To do that you’d first add some images to Featured content at the top left of the Library (drag and drop). Then you’d add a new “Contents” template filtered to only show Featured content. We explain that here:
http://help.koken.me/customer/portal/articles/1140411-add-filtered-content-pages

Then you could assign that page as your front page:

Hi Todd

The idea with the featured site sounds good, but its more work for me when i want that only the last uploaded pictures was show there. when i upload new pictures, i must mark them as features, an the old pictures i must remove the marks on the old pictures. You have, right, so I have more control. Maybe I try it once. Although I find it so really well as it is. Only the limit and exclude from albums would be useful I think.

Thank you!

Photos that are in albums, which are not visible are displayed in the Timeline. Is this intentional so?

I think what may be happening is that you have unlisted images assigned as covers to a public album. Try editing the album’s covers to see if that’s the problem:

Okay, you’re asking about individual images not in albums? And are the images unlisted or private, not public? They shouldn’t appear in the timeline if they aren’t public. Feel free to provide an example of what you’re referring to if you can.
