Multi language Support for Frontend?

Frank

Mar 13, 2014 10:21AM EDT

Hello,
I am a big fan of Koken and I using Koken more than one year. Unfortunately I have a bad experiences with SEO aspects, because of the mixed languages in content. Do you planned a multi language support for your frontend in near future? The Backend in english is ok for me. I need only a language support of (shipped) themes. The translation will done by myself. Duplicate existing themes is not a option for me, because of I have to merge every update of themes. I think, Koken was built with intention, that users must not develop everything like as in Wordpress.

Frank – we hear you. This isn’t impossible, it’s just a huge undertaking for it touches many different aspects of the system. Once we have a chance we’re going to take a closer look at it. For now the options are to either make your own theme, duplicate a theme and edit its english text, or rely on auto-browser translation, which actually works pretty well in Google Chrome.

Yes, I would also like to have multi-language support in Koken.

Apart from the menu's, it would be great if also the text fields can have multiple language support, so the content manager can add captions and descriptions in multiple languages.

Another vote for multiligual support. A Koken extension akin to Joomfish for Joomla would be the bee's knees.

+1 :)

Hope multilingual support will be an official feature soon, but before it's released maybe anyone has positive experience with this unofficial plugin? Haven't tried it yet by myself, but hope it works.

+1 here too
Would be a huge feature and really professional

As a wedding photographer I need for the multiple language support for my front-end site.

Could be based on the user locales or the language settings of the browser itself!

Thanks for bringing this time the Koken's community

+1 vote for multiple language frontend!
I really love koken for it's friendly backend and easy customizable paid themes. The only thing is missing and critical for me is multilanguage support. Hope it could be implemented soon.

+1 for multi language.
I still don't understand why it's not yet imolemented.
Nowadays it's so important to conserve our own culture (I'm French and still write in for French because it's my culture) and open ourself to the rest of the world (yes, I have to speak with my poor English).

Can we have a date for this functionality ?

I'm waiting a clear answer to know if I change for other solution or stay with liken because I really need this multi language functionality.

Thanks a lot for your answer and keep going on, liken is a good plate for me and could be the best one

I need multi language support too. But not only for the theme itself. I need also the capability to offer my content in multi languages. I mean i will write the text for a page /essay in two different languages (English and German) and Koken should decide base on the http header which was send from the browser which version should be delivered to the browser.

regards
