Picture compression issue

Denis Ledent

Hi, first off, Koken is one of the most amazing CMS i've seen, kudos!
But... I really seem to have an issue with my pictures. I'm a photographer and the compression on displayed picture is massive. Artifacts visible and big color shift.

Using Axis. All my uploaded pictures are 3200px wide JPGs, with no compression visible and vivid colors ( when not BW ofc ). The file is ok, because if I download it back from the server, the quality hasn't changed a bit.

Still, even after toying with the picture quality controls, no changes at all. Actually, even when I change the higher size available for download, nothing happens. I can always download a large picture, even when I disable downloading, or set it to huge (or whatever).
Tried to clear image cache, still the same. Problem persistent since 2/3 months, no update fixed it.

Examples : http://denisledent.com/albums/portrait/

Any help?
Thanks a lot.

Denis – Can you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing? The images in that album all look good to me.

Quality is acceptable, but not quite how it should looks like for the 95 quality setting. And moreover, the quality doesn't change at all when I increase it or decrease it in the settings.
I made a comparison between tumblr and koken with all quality settings set to 95. ( but that would look the same even on min quality) I also added the file from my hdd in the comparison, scaled to roughly match the two others pics. Anyway, here you go : http://abload.de/img/deniscomparison4vshg.png

I noticed Opera (16) was rendering the image worse than IE or Chrome, but even using one of those, compression is still there, and colors are still washed out.
Thanks for your fast reply.

Would you happen to have any news regarding the matter?
A friend I introduced to koken reported the same issue on his website. I was thinking about a problem with the color space, but nothing change if I upload a sRGB picture instead of its AdobeRVB version.
