Remove index.php from URL

Feb 12, 2019 10:11AM EST

Hi there,
I am struggling to enable correct URL rewriting, removing index.php from URLs to improve SEO.
I triple checked that mod rewrite is enabled and is working, logs on host side show it's ok.

My website has the following folder tree: root folder contains index.php and a koken/ folder where koken CMS is installed. The website can be browsed without any problem.

One .htaccess file is present in the root folder and contains rewriting from http to https.
A second .htaccess file is present in the koken/ folder and is setup by koken.

I changed the website filesystem tree at some point, and my guess is the koken/.htaccess is not compliant with the new tree anymore. So I wonder how I can recover it or fix the problem.

My requests end up on "" which is horrible :(

Is there a way to regenerate the .htaccess from koken ?
Or a way to find what's going wrong ?

Hello. Try changing the url in Koken settings to something temporary by adding /koken2. Save the settings and clear the system caches. Koken should regenerate the necessary files. After you confirm it is working properly, repeat the process and restore the original url.
