HTTPS and mixed content

Michael Holch

Hi Koken Team,

I have Problems concerning the SSL certificate for my Website. Although I activated SSL through my Hosting Service I still get the Information that due to "mixed Content" my Website is considered as "not secure". I added the following lines to the htaccess file:

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} !=443
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://floorone.de/$1 [R=301,L]
</IfModule>

What can I do in order to get a secure SSL Connection for the Visitors of my Website?

Thanks and Kind regards,

Michael

Hi Michael. The url you entered for your logo is http not https. Please change the url and you should remove the mixed content issue.

Hi, thanks for your answer but unfortunately it didn't help or solve the issue. I changed in the admin the logo url to https but after this I can't neither call the Website nor the admin area. Chrome Shows the message:

ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

The same message I got in the past when trying out to solve the SSL Problem. Do you have another idea?

Thanks and Kind regards,

Michael

Hello. Below are our instructions for enabling HTTPS.

After you purchase and install the certificate you need to edit the .htaccess file to use HTTPS. Connect to your server via FTP. Open the .htaccess file in a text editor. At the top of the file are instructions about activating https for admin pages. You can also change to / instead of /admin/ so it works for the whole site. Here’s what it should look like:

  1. Uncomment the following block to force SSL when accessing /admin
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /
    RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
    RewriteRule ^ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]
    </IfModule>

Hello. I noticed that you’re redirecting the domain name to a subdomain name. Is the certificate provisioned for the subdomain in addition to the top level domain?
