HTTP Error on upload for specific JPEGs (NOT a file too large issue)

I made a Koken site for my photographer friend and it seems like specific files he has will not upload.

I did a bunch of tests with his images - they're taken straight from his camera, edited & saved in Lightroom before uploading, and it will just say 'Error uploading _____.jpg: HTTP error'.

So I started looking more in depth at the files he's using. They're normal jpegs, around 1 - 2mb max. I notice that if I use the old "Save for web" in Photoshop the exact same image will upload fine, even if I increase it's size by 200% & make what was a 2mb file 17mb. Looking at "Get Info" on Mac I can see that the photo with save for web no longer has info like camera data, exposure settings etc.. This leads me to think it's something in the meta data that my server isn't liking. I'm hoping somebody else has an idea of what's happening here because looking through these forums all I can find are people who just don't have the filesize limit set high enough in php.in. I'm running Koken on a 16.04 LAMP install, if it helps... Please dear god help me figure this out...

Hello. It could be a quirk of the image processing software on the server. Try Changing the image processing library.

Hi Connor. We uploaded your image to two test servers with no problem. One server is running GD Bundled (2.1.0 compatible) and the other is running ImageMagick 6.8.9 processing software.
