Odd behavior when dragging and dropping photos in library

When I drag and drop photos onto an album, sometimes the results indicate that it has skipped some photos and sometimes it makes multiple copies of photos. The problem seems to be more likely when dragging a larger number of files (i.e. ~100 ).

I'm running v 0.22.24 on a self-hosted Solaris 11 system. I run a virtual desktop there (vnc) and drag the files using the Solaris desktop File Browser because I thought that would be more efficient than copying from a remote desktop.

I know this has been mentioned elsewhere, but it sure would be helpful if photos could be introduced by referencing a local directory on the host. And in that import it would also be very useful if we could specify that cached photos should be created as each file is imported. Or how about an option to build/rebuild the cache for specify albums?

Finally, when selecting 'Build Image Cache' does that only add cache photos that are missing or does it rebuild/build all? Hopefully, it only rebuilds those that are missing.

I later tested the more normal (?) drag-and-drop to add photos to an album. When working on an MS PC, I was able to drag-and-drop 400+ photos at once from Windows Explorer to an IE window pointing to a Koken album on the remote Solaris host. I didn't stick around to see how long that took :), but the transfer completed without the problems noted previously when trying to do all this in an remote desktop (vnc) on the server.
