301 Redirects vs Caching

Hi,

I just set up my website. Physically, it's in a subfolder of my webspace. I managed to change the root url though, using this article: http://help.koken.me/customer/portal/questions/2673938-can-t-change-the-site-url - which works just fine!

However, now I'm having trouble correctly setting up the redirects. At first I thought I made a mistake in the .htaccess file. But then I realized that there is a weird pattern: If I clear all system caches (which I did to be sure not to run into caching problems) none of the redirects will work. HOWEVER once I click on the new link and THEN try the redirect it works.

So basically the old link is domain.com/abc and the new link is domain.com/abc/de/ if I try FIRST OPENING THE OLD LINK it won't work. If I try FIRST OPENING THE NEW LINK, THEN OPENING THE OLD LINK it works like a charm.

Also, I noticed that Koken will not only redirect but also add "?url=/abc/" (the old link) to the url.

It's the weirdest thing. First of all I'd have to open all the new links first in order for the redirect to work (seriously?) and then I would be able to clear system caches because if I do that, the redirect goes back to not working at all.

Any suggestions? I feel lost ;)
