Completely changing URL to an Addon Domain

Sarah R

Hello,

I tried emailing Koken support directly but haven't received a response on this. I also talked to my hosting provider but they were enable to help.

I have one koken installation set up at sarahrittenour.com. I recently set up another koken installation in a subfolder on my website. I purchased a new domain and set it up as an addon domain through the domain/ hosting provider (I use Bluehost for both). The new domain now points to the koken site set up in the subfolder but the URL shows as sarahrittenour.com/subfoldername. When I go into the publishing settings in the koken backend to change the URL, I'm unable to remove the "sarahrittenour.com" part of the URL which means I can't change the URL to my new domain.

Can anyone help with this?
Thanks in advance!!

Hello. Koken reads whatever domain name you use to access the console.

Login to Koken using the new domain name, then clear Koken’s system caches (in Settings > System). Finally, connect to your server via FTP and delete the /koken/storage/cache/site folder.

Hi there,

I've tried that but there does not seem to be a site folder (under koken/storage/cache in the koken installation under sarahrittenour.com/subfoldername). Also, when I go to newdomain.com/koken/admin, it immediately redirects to sarahrittenour.com/subfoldername/koken/admin (before I log in) so I'm not sure the system is recognizing that I'm trying to access it at newdomain.com/koken/admin...

Hi. It sounds like you have a domain redirect configured at your host. You’ll need to contact your server administrator or tech support at your hosting company for assistance.
