Make library images available in essays/pages but not (!) appearing in sites "content"-section?

Is it possible to make an uploaded library image (or video) available for using them only in essays or pages (and NOT (!) to be appearing in the "content" section)?

Background: I have some images, that I want to use only in texts, pages or essays like a photo of the author or a photo of an event (and which has no artistic value). To make these images useable in the essay-/page-editor, they have to be public in the library. But if they are public, they will also appear in the "content" section of the site. I don't want that! What can I do? If I switch these images to "unlisted" they disappear from content but also from the essays, pages.

Maybe there should be a new "visibility"-type i.e.: "no-content" or "semi-public"

Thanks. Johannes

If you upload the image directly into pages or essays, it will not appear in content or library. See Insert images from your desktop

Thank you! That's what I want! I thought "upload and insert" will indirectly upload the content into the library.
