Selective use of tags

I would like to have some drop-downs that each use a subset of tags to define their content.

This structure gives me all of them:

<koken:tags>
<koken:loop separator=" ">
<option value="{{ tag.title }}">{{ tag.title }}
</koken:loop>
</koken:tags>

Is there a way I can use koken if, or another construct, to restrict the content to only tags which contain specific text?

If we could do string subsets in Koken, something along these lines would do it:

<koken:variable name="match_value" value="me" />
<koken:tags>
<koken:loop>
<koken:if condition="{{tag.title}}[0,1] == {{match_value}}[0,1]">
<option value="{{tag.title}}">{{tag.title}}
</koken:if>
</koken:loop>
</koken:tags>

Is there a means, or planned means, to be able to get a string subset?
