Images won't load, or take forever to load

Tobias Solem

Aug 22, 2014 09:31PM EDT

I have some images that just refuse to load, for example here:

For whatever reason 1-2 tops 4 images load, and then the rest take forever to load.

256MB cache RAM and cache enabled.

Please help.

Thank you.

Generally the same problem here... tried to import four images yesterday and today several times - but they will not load after import. I had the problem I think BEFORE I updated to the last version... which I did hoping to correct the problem... but to no avail. I think I am using Elementary theme...

Well, I deleted ALL my images/database and made a complete fresh reinstall of koken,
I adjusted my Lightroom-plugin never to upload images larger than 8MB, in case the file-size was the issue.
The largest images in the "originals"-folder now are between 4-7MB, and most thumbnails are less than 2MB.

The problem still persists:

The album loads 4 images, and then is stuck on infinite loading-loop, and some images get corrupted (I've reported that in the past).

Deleted the album, and added the images in a different order, still refuses to load more than 4 images...

I've this problem since v16 but site works, after v17 everything crashed... so I make fresh install with new db few days ago.
After upl few pics images won't load, so I make another fresh install, upl pic (with problems ofc - random pics won't upl - WTF?) and site is now working (so far).
Every time pics were THE SAME, why it's now working I really don't know.

Upl pics takes ages - ~20pic/ ~60MB - 2h, and ofc few pics disappeared.
Server works fine, using FTP agent transfer hits my bandwidth (5MB/s).

in fact, it works (for pc ) with Axis 1 Version 0.17.2 . The version 0.17.3 (i have too) doesn't upload the pictures. So DON'T INSTALL 0.17.3

The issue persists. It's such a bummer since this used to work in the past.

Tobias – have you made any modifications to the Boulevard theme files?

All adjustments have been done in the in-koken-theme-editor (color adjustments and image header instead of text).

This error has been resolved (somewhat), for some reason it was somehow related to the particular web host. I believe it might have something to do with the number of simultaneous php-processes allowed, and that if the website exceeded that amount, the script would get timed out by the provider.

I switched to my own web server these problems are gone. So if anyone runs into this problem, it might very well be your web server provider.
