Naming of lens template

Apr 09, 2018 12:36PM EDT

I'm creating a custom theme where I named one of the templates as news.lens. I then put in markup that koken:load the essays with a filter category of "News." I also have an essays.lens that does the same thing but filters out the News category. These two templates have different layouts.

This approach works locally, but if I upload the templates to the server, the news.lens doesn't work. It somehow defaults to the essays.lens (although I don't understand how it does that). I initially had news.lens in the info.json file but then decided to delete it later, maybe that's why it doesn't work?

However, if I simply change the name of the news.lens to announcements.lens, then it all works as I intended.

But I really want to use the name "news.lens" not "announcements.lens" as I want the url path to show "news."

What do I have to delete or change to make it work with news.lens? I thought it had something to do with caching, but I can't figure it out.

Thank you for your help.
